The Pen is Mightier Than The Sword…
We have sent this article to the Sentinel with the hope that it appropriately receives the attention and front-page listing as the original was afforded, however, at the very least, it should appear as a letter to the editor.
After reading the latest edition of the Sentinel (2/4/10), it appears that the public will only have the opportunity to see this response via our website. The only disservice regarding this issue was the Sentinel's decision to print only one misleading perspective. Fortunately, I am confident that the Board, the administration and our outstanding staff do their best, on a daily basis, to make every decision in the best interest of your children. If and when any member of our community feels otherwise, we welcome the opportunity to further discuss; and you will not have to write a letter to an editor to do so.

Mrs. Greenling’s Middle School Art classes are making and selling “Haiti Houses” pins to benefit the victims of the tragic earthquake that struck that island nation. The pins cost $5.00 each with the proceeds going to support the relief effort in Haiti. If you would like to purchase a pin, please send the donation in with your child in a marked envelope.

UTPS KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION Kindergarten registration for the Upper Township Primary School 2010-2011 School Year in Marmora is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23rd from 4:30pm to 6:30pm (last names A to M) and Wednesday, February 24th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm (last names N to Z). Registration shall be made in person by a parent or guardian. It is recommended that children not attend this registration due to the length of time the process takes and the number of people attending. Parents are reminded that in order to enroll a child the following information must be provided: 1.* Proof of birth by birth or baptismal certificate- Your child must be 5 years of age by October 1, 2010. 2.* Proof of the immunizations- Please bring your child’s most current health records. You will be notified at registration of the required immunizations to begin Kindergarten. 3.* Proof of residency- A valid driver's license (must show actual home address) along with one of the following documents: · Tax Bill · Notarized Statement from Realtor or Property Owner (original and with seal) for anyone renting or leasing in the Township · Settlement Sheet (showing date of occupancy) · Current Utility Bill (gas or electric bill which must show actual home address) · For residents with a P.O. Box, verification of actual home address is required in some other form Note: In addition to one of the above documents, Guardianship/Custody Papers are required if applicable. *YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO REGISTER IF THIS INFORMATION IS NOT AVAILABLE IN FULL.* Please call the Upper Township Primary School at 390-2242 if you have any questions. |
